Yevgeny Prigozhin was the leader of the Wagner Group. However, as reported by media, he was killed in a plane crash which occurred on August 23, 2023. It was recently confirmed through genetic testing that Prigozhin was in fact killed during the crash.

Prigozhin had staged a military coup against Vladimir Putin, but failed, as reported by Sky News, it was the biggest challenge against the Russian President since the beginning of his regime in 1999.
After his failed coup, the former Wagner chief fled the country. It was unsure where he had sought refuge, with many rumours suggesting he fled to Belarus. However, a recent video has emerged that allegedly dates to a few days before Prigozhin’s death.
Yevgeny Prigozhin was allegedly somewhere in Africa
As reported by Sky News, a new video of Yevgeny Prigozhin has emerged, showing the Wagner leader in camouflage gear and a hat that he was in Africa. The video was posted on Wagner's Grey Zone Telegram channel, in which Prigozhin says:
For those talking about whether I'm alive or not, how I'm doing, now it's the weekend, the second half of August 2023, I'm in Africa.
Adding:
For those who like to discuss my elimination, private life, income or other things - basically I'm fine.
It is unsure which weekend Prigozhin is referencing, but it could be the weekend of August 19-20, mere days before he was reportedly killed in the plane crash just north of Moscow.

Yevgeny Prigozhin was buried on August 29, 2023
As reported by the media, Yevgeny Prigozhin was buried on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Porokhovskoye cemetery in St Petersburg.
The former Wagner chief was buried in a private ‘farewell ceremony’ and it is believed he has been laid to rest next to his father.
In a statement on Telegram, the Wagner chief's press service said:
The farewell to Yevgeny Viktorovich [Prigozhin] took place in a closed format. Those who wish to say goodbye may visit Porokhovskoye cemetery.
The details of the funeral had remained secret and the Kremlin revealed that Vladimir Putin would not be attending.
