People who suffer from certain respiratory illnesses will be entitled to a Personal Independence Payment (PIP) of £150 to help with everyday tasks and expenses. The payment is issued by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and is available to those living in the UK with disabilities or long-term health conditions.

The payment is worth between £24.25 and £156.90 per week and is paid every four weeks, meaning it is worth up to £627.60 per month to help improve the quality of life for those with long-term illnesses, as per The Mirror.
Eligibility
Nearly three million people across the country are entitled to the payment, but many do not realise they qualify. You can get Personal Independence Payment (PIP) if all of the following apply to you:
- you’re 16 or over
- you have a long-term physical or mental health condition or disability
- you have difficulty doing certain everyday tasks or getting around
- you expect the difficulties to last for at least 12 months from when they started
You must also be under State Pension age if you’ve not received PIP before, as per Gov.uk. In order to apply for PIP, you usually need to:
- have lived in England, Scotland or Wales for at least 2 of the last 3 years
- be living in one of these countries when you apply
