But when you think this through, this means that your phone is recording what you say. This is all very well when it's just recording 'Call Mum', 'Tell me where the nearest McDonald's is' or 'What time does Sainsbury's close?' but recent research from The Sun discovered that recording can be triggered simply by the word 'OK'. According to the newspaper, the word 'OK' can cause your phone to record and transcribe the next 20 seconds of your conversation.
Think of all those times your phone is in your pocket or on the table next to you as you're gossiping with your friends and this may start to make you feel a little uneasy.
How To Check If Your Phone Is Recording
Luckily, there's an easy way for you to check if your phone has been recording your conversations. Here's what you need to do:
1. Sign into your Google or Gmail account on a computer
2. Go to "history.google.com/history" on your internet browser
3. Select 'Activity controls' on the left-hand menu
4. Scroll down to click on the 'Voice & Audio activity' section
You'll be able to see a chronological list of every recording your phone has taken of you. Now you'll know if you need to be more careful about what you say with your phone around.
