Princess Diana’s 60th birthday
Yesterday marked her 60th birth anniversary and her sons took this occasion to unveil a statue created in her honour. And while everyone was busy admiring the magnificent monument, this childhood photo of the Princess that was uploaded on social media slipped unnoticed.
To celebrate her birthday, her brother—Charles Spencer—uploaded an adorable snap of the princess when she was just a young’un. The photo was taken by their late father, John Spencer, and it was uploaded on the social media handles of the Althorp House.
Young Diana
In the photo we see a young Diana, before all the royalty and fame, dressed in a white sweater and simple skirt. This is one of the very few pictures in which she doesn’t have her signature short hair, and is rocking two ponytails instead and she looks adorable. Looking at her outfit, it’s clear she’s been a fashionista from a very young age.
The photo is captioned:
Today is the 60th Birthday of Diana, Princess of Wales. Diana was born in Park House, on the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk which is seen in the background of this family photograph taken by Diana's father, the 8th Earl Spencer.
People flooded the comments section with best wishes, and wrote kind words about the Princess. One user wrote:
Happy birthday to …’the unique, the complex, the extraordinary and irreplaceable Diana whose beauty both internal and external, will never be extinguished from our minds.’ You will never be forgotten. 💕🇦🇺💕
