Many women become fixated on certain parts of their body: their belly, bum, chest, everything. Although the current idea of beauty centres around self-acceptance, it seems that in the United States, self-consciousness persists and no part of our bodies is spared. People are always wanting to achieve their perfect body and as a result, nipple surgery has now become a thing.

A frenzy across the Atlantic
Cosmetic surgeries are filling up and it seems young women only have one thing on their mind right now: nipple surgery.
When interviewed by The Independent, New York plastic surgeon Norman Rowe has revealed that he is worried about this new feminine complex. According to him, this phenomenon was created by celebrities. Since they often go commando on the red carpet, we can pretty much see the shape and outline of their nipples through their dresses. And as a result, this is what young American women now want for themselves.
My patients come in with pictures from magazines of nipples that they want; they want to wear see-through dresses too, and that makes them take a closer look at their nipples.
This mostly applies to women under the age of 25. Influenced by their idols such as Rihanna, Emily Ratajkowski and Bella Hadid, they want to reduce the areola of their nipples and even have them more protruding.
Although the trend is growing across the Atlantic, this type of surgery is not as common in the UK, and perhaps it’s better that it stays that way.
