Tooth extraction turns fatal for young child
A family from Tolima, Colombia took their 8-year-old child, who had been complaining of tooth ache for several days, to the dental clinic of Dr. José Manuel Herrera
A scan at the dentist's showed that the cause for the pain was a broken tooth, which needed to be extracted. As soon as the tooth was removed, the child bled uncontrollably.
Her mother states that the girl had been diagnosed with anaemia before, for which she had been receiving treatment. But other than that, she did not have any other health issues.
The child was immediately transported to the hospital. Her mother states,

This is what doctors think happened
The child was rushed to the emergency ward in San Juan de Dios Hospital in Honda. Unfortunately, doctors were unable to save the life of the child.
Doctors surmise that the child might have ingested blood during the tooth-extraction procedure, and died as a result of being suffocated by it.
Her grieving sister expressed the impact of the incident on her family saying,
It has been very hard for us. The only thing that is left for us to do is to ask God to give us strength and resilience.
As per the report, the parents of the girl have stated that they do not hold the dental clinic responsible for the untimely death of their child.
