We know it may be tempting to just stay cosy and not venture out into the cold, but even when the plants aren’t growing, you have to keep nurturing your relationship with your partner. Or, if you’re still trying to get out there, don’t let the cold stop you from going on dates and meeting people!
To make sure your relationship and dating life stay warm too in these colder months, here are some fun and practical date ideas for the winter! They’re so great, you may even forget how freezing it is. So don that scarf and snuggle up to these super date suggestions:
Take a walk under the lights
It’s the holiday season, so there’s little doubt that there isn’t a place in your local area that is beautifully decorated and twinkling. So, why not layer up and enjoy some magical scenery with your date? There are not many positive aspects to it getting darker earlier in the day, but this lack of light means there is only more time in the day for the lights to shine bright and be admired. We think it’s super romantic to take a nice stroll with your date, walking close and snug, and maybe even stopping into shops or grabbing a hot beverage. This is also a great supplement to a dinner date!
Go ice skating
Normally considered an inconvenience, objectively, all the ice and snow all around is quite beautiful. If you have an ice rink (indoor or outdoor) in your area, why not take advantage of this by going ice skating? It is super romantic and fun, regardless of your level. You’re almost destined to have a Hallmark movie moment holding hands on the ice, and bonus points for some nice chat over a hot chocolate or mulled wine.
Have a luxurious night in
Ok, ok, you got us. This one is kind of a cheat because it doesn’t involve braving the cold. But, we even admit the cold can bite! Beat the frigid weather outside by keeping it as warm and cosy as possible with an elevated night in. The keyword is elevated, we aren’t talking about a cheeky takeaway whilst watching Netflix, no no. Instead, really play it up.
Take your time cooking a comforting meal with your partner. Enhance it by making or enjoying some holiday spirits and snacks. Light some candles, play some nice music, or make a pillow fort and enjoy a festive film. You can make it however you and your date want, which is the best part! The only rules are to push intimacy and comfort to the maximum.
