But it can do a lot more. We women can also derive a very different kind of pleasure from doing core exercises.
This is one we don't hear about enough! In 2012, a study that revealed its existence circulated the web. Experts are calling it a coregasm because ab exercises that target the core are the main trigger for this type of orgasm.
When you hear the results of the study, you'll be rushing to get on your workout clothes: it's possible to achieve an orgasm from just working out. 370 women aged 18 to 63 took part in a questionnaire, and 40% of them had experienced a coregasm.
It appears that ab exercises are the key, at least according to sexologist Victoria Zdrok:
“The release of endorphins and dopamine, which are necessary for orgasm, combined with the tension in the abs and lower extremities, can cause the clitoral stimulation that is needed.”
But you'll need to fill a few conditions to achieve a coregasm. First, you need to have a strong pelvic floor. The pelvic floor is the layers of muscles that support both men's and women's genitals.
Then, you'll have to target your obliques, so planking is your best bet.
Sounds like you can squeeze in an ab workout after all, huh?
