Getting a hickey is not that difficult. However, removing one can be quite a task. Although covering it up with makeup helps, but it is a temporary solution. There are ways with which you can get rid of hickeys faster. You could use one of the following ways or combine 2-3 together to make it disappear.
Brush it Off
Some people use toothbrushes to get rid of a hickey. Taking a toothbrush and massaging it in circular motions would help with blood circulation and subside the mark. Although be careful while applying pressure, too much force can make it worse.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera pulp reduces inflammation, pain, and redness. Applying a thin layer of the pulp directly on the hickey would pace up the disappearance of the hickey. Use the aloe Vera pulp two to three times a day for better results.
Cold it Out
Rubbing ice cubes, a cold spoon, or a cold compress on a fresh hickey is the quickest way to get rid of it. Using any of these cooling tools will slow down the blood flow from the broken capillaries and reduce the size of the hickey.
Peppermint Oil
Peppermint oil has menthol in it, which will stimulate blood flow at the target area. This would speed up the healing process of the hickey. However, peppermint oil could irritate your skin a little if applied directly. Dilute it with a carrier oil so that it doesn’t backfire.
Pineapple
Bromelain is a type of enzyme found in pineapple and is best known to reduce pain and soreness. It may also help ease inflammation and swelling. Simply put a piece of pineapple on the affected area and let it work its magic.
Vitamin Cream
Topical vitamins like Vitamin K and C work wonders in getting rid of hickeys. Using a Vitamin K cream helps deal with blood clots and will reduce the size of the hickey. Vitamin C creams help produce collagen, which would provide elasticity to the wounded area and heal the hickey quicker.
Banana Peel
Banana peel has tons of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that have a calming and soothing impact on the skin. Massaging a banana peel on the hickey would help reduce the size of the bruise quicker. You can use the banana peel three to four times a day.
