For decades women have seen it as a taboo subject to talk about pleasure, and even self-stimulation has been seen as totally reprehensible behaviour. But times are changing and sex education has played a key role in this.

Now we know that it doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman, self-love can do a world of good to your body. Starting with the fact that thanks to masturbation you can get to know your body better, what you like and what you don't like. But in addition to this and all the pleasure you can achieve, there are many other health benefits.
But like all parts of our body, as the years pass and pile on, the clitoris also undergoes ageing and disorders in the function of this erectile organ. One example of such disorders can be impotence in women.
What is a clitoris?
It is undoubtedly the gateway to female pleasure. It is a small, fleshy and erectile organ that protrudes from the front of the vulva. This organ is responsible for providing pleasure. And it is much more complex than you can imagine. It is made up of 18 distinct parts (erectile tissue, muscle and nerves) connected to your brain, to offer you a wide range of sensations.
What can be done to combat female genital ageing?
The first symptoms that can reveal ageing in the female reproductive system is at the hormonal level. The first definite sign is when menstrual periods come to a final stop, known as menopause.
In addition, with time, and although we should point out that the clitoris is one of the parts of our body that takes the longest to age, the pelvic area may lose muscle strength, lose elasticity, lubrication, flaccidity and change in colour.
These changes, rather than being due to the passage of time, are often caused by trauma, problems during childbirth, or hormonal changes, as mentioned above. Hence the emergence of treatments such as regenerative gynaecology.
Treatments applied to the genital area, which aim to produce biostimulation of the damaged tissue itself so that it can repair itself and recover lost function.
These treatments can be carried out using specific techniques:
- Laser application
- Radiofrequency
- Carboxytherapy
- Use of autologous tissues (platelet-rich plasma and mesenchymal stem cells obtained from fat).
