The Office for National Statistics has recently released its list of the most popular baby names in England and Wales in 2017.

Within the top 100 there were some big surprises for both boys' and girls' names as previously popular names such as Sarah and Zoe were knocked out by the likes of Aurora and Hallie, whilst Aaron and Jasper were replaced by Hunter and Ralph in the boys' top 100.
It's also clear that popular culture has quite an impact on baby names - in 2017 76 baby girls were named Khaleesi - the title given to Game of Thrones' Daenerys which means 'Queen' in Dothraki, a language invented by George R. R. Martin.
