A drop in libido
That’s right, the less you make love, the less your body will want to, it’s scientific! Sex therapist Sari Cooper even says that people 'begin to feel more sluggish, with less vitality and hunger for sex.' Just one more reason to keep getting it on!
Future relationships could become painful
Besides jealousy, the act itself could become physically unpleasant. Sari Cooper explains:
Without regular frequency of intercourse as you get older the walls of your vagina thin out and can lead to painful sex when you finally get back into the sack.
This phenomenon also gets worse when menopause hits. Experts even advise having regular intercourse when you get older to avoid this unpleasantness.
A drop in natural lube production
The older you get, the less your body produces oestrogen. On its own, this isn’t all bad. But this natural body development can lead to a lack of natural lubrication. For a woman 'who’s 20 or 30 years old, she’s going to have plenty of oestrogens around to make sure those tissues stay healthy, elastic and lubricated when she’s not having sex. If you take someone who’s 60 and has no oestrogen, she has lost that piece of it,' explains Doctor Lauren Streicher.
Period pains get worse
Periods aren’t always pleasant when they come around each month… But without sex, the pains that come with them are even worse! This is explained by the increase in endorphins produced during orgasm, which reduces these pains.
Bye bye infections!
Finally an advantage! By not having sex, your risk of catching STDs drops obviously, but your risk of urine infections also reduces drastically. 80% of urine infections in women start 24 hours after having sex. No sex, no infections!
