What is this 'holidating' trend?
Basically, Sloane and Jackson do what is called 'holidating,' which means having someone accompany us on family celebrations or on New Year's Eve. The goal? Not to remain alone and above all, to be able to avoid that one dreadful question that we all hate: 'Are you seeing anyone special?'
It's kind of an undercover date, and we'll be the first to admit that it is sometimes sorely needed! He or she will have fun with your nephews and nieces, support you on this night out with your colleagues and be the perfect date for your cousin's wedding. And once the party is over, everyone goes home. That is what we call a perfect evening.
Social pressure put upon singles
Unfortunately, this trend puts the finger of the social pressure that still weighs on single people today. Some people get into a relationship very early on, others choose to be in a relationship without living under the same roof, while some even prefer to live their whole lives single and without children of their own. There are absolutely no rules, only those you agree to, and you live your life the way you want to.
