However, not every food delivery goes smoothly for customers, whether it be due to being served 'half-eaten' pizza by the delivery driver or learning about the horrors in fast-food soda fountains. But a news has now emerged which might trump them all.
As reported by Delish, a customer who ordered food via delivery app, Grubhub, had a terrible experience. In fact, his delivery driver served him urine instead of the Chick-fil-A milkshake he ordered.
Grubhub driver makes a terrible delivery
The customer Caleb Woods had ordered fries and a milkshake from Chick-fil-A via Grubhub app. As he received his food, and starting eating it while sipping on his drink, he was stumped by the taste of his milkshake. He recounts his experience to Fox59,
When I started eating my meal upon delivery, I put a straw in my cup that was delivered and took a sip. I soon discovered that the cup delivered to me from the Grubhub driver was a warm cup of urine.
Yes, horrifyingly, Woods received a warm cup of urine instead of the milkshake he ordered. Yuck!
Woods confronted the driver, saying,
Do you realize this is pee
The whole delivery, as well as the exchange is actually recorded in Woods' home security camera.
The reason behind the Grubhub driver's action
Apparently, the delivery driver needed to pee, and relieved himself in a Styrofoam cup. When it came time to deliver the food order to Woods, the driver got confused between the cup with the urine and the one with the milkshake. He ended up delivering the customer the wrong cup!
Woods made a complaint about the incident to Grubhub, and though he was refunded with a portion of his bill, he has not received compensations for his whole order. He explains,
I think it [the order] cost like 25 bucks. They refunded like $18, the actual cost of the food.
They didn’t refund the delivery fee or the tip that I gave.
Needless to say, the incident has left the customer sickened and shocked. As per a statement by Grubhub,
We took immediate action with the driver and ended his contract with us.
We’re following up with the customer to apologize and are coaching the representative who was previously in touch with the customer.
