Two different products sold in Marks and Spencer and Waitrose respectively have been recalled as they were inaccurately labelled. The products contain nuts that were not declared on the labels, meaning they are a health hazard to people with certain nut allergies.

Pasta Evangelists Basil Pesto recalled
Pasta Evangelists is recalling their Fresh Basil Pesto, sold in Marks and Spencer, because some jars contain pistachio pesto not basil pesto. This is not correctly noted on the product label. If you have an allergy, intolerance or sensitivity to pistachio nuts, you should not consume this product.
The recall affects 140g jars of Pasta Evangelists Basil Pesto with the use-by date 03/02/2021. You can find the use-by date by looking at the label on the side of the jar. If you bought one of the affected jars, you can return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund. You don’t need your receipt.
Waitrose Patisserie Carrot Cake Muffin 2S recalled
Waitrose have also had to recall a product – Patisserie Carrot Cake Muffin 2s - due to them containing undeclared walnuts. In the official recall notice, Waitrose wrote:
We are recalling this product due to an error on the label, meaning that nuts are not declared, which if consumed by someone with a nut allergy could cause illness.
Customers who bought the affected product, dated Best Before: 05 Feb, can return it to store for a full refund during their next shop. If you have an allergy to walnuts you should not consume the Waitrose Carrot Cake Muffin 2s. Waitrose apologised for the product recall and the inconvenience caused.
